This weeks challenge we picked another artist rendition, and developing that further. This was a really fun excercise. Spent about 2-3 hours on this sketch. Wips included, well roughly the process 😛

Part of our weekly art challenge at work. Topic was to pick a specific character and re-imagine them as the opposite sex. So the idea of Tanya Stark came into fruition.

Concept Art for a Cancelled Project 2011

Aftermath from the alien invasion, our heroes crash land into downtown Manhattan and begin their epic journey. One of the first concepts i did when i came onboard this project. The idea was to wreck shit up 🙂 Good times.

A paint over of outsourced concept, to get the time of day correct, as well as add in additional elements to the existing shot.

Internal Mothership concepts, had a blast doing these, also a great learning process too.

Original concept by James Brouwer, had to do a quick repaint to match to ingame art style.

This project was a blast and the artist i worked with were a fantastic bunch of people (Jez, Bob, James, Alex and Brad).  A lot of hard work went into this project, and also a couple of late night sprints too. It would have been great to see this whole project through. Ah well, onto bigger and better things i guess.

Steampunk Minotaur

This was a piece i did for CG-Talk’s steam-punk challenge a year and abit ago, never got the chance to submit it to finals though. I’ve just entered it into Expose 9, so will see how things go. Did a revisit on this piece, wasn’t happy with the original pose of the hero, so changed it again. Added more detail to it, picking out areas of light and dark. Also added in more bounce light, and specular to the metal on the minotaur as well as the heroes armour. Quite happy with the result so far. Will try to update more regularly now, if time permits…

Did this one awhile back, thought i’d come back to it and touch it up alittle more… initially started as a B/W speedy
